with the new architecture in copenhagen as a scene, a group of young men (team JiYo) conquor the urban jungle and move in the city totally effortless and without obstacles. It´s an interesting view on how we move, the fluent cityscape that offers whatever the people want. The movie will be available on DVD from March 2010 here.

act surprised kitty wu

Music video from the fantastic danish band Kitty Wu. I love their sound, which is very melancholy. Clips from the movie “Mechanical love” by Phle Ambo, where a japanese professor is making a robotic clone of himself and his daughter. He doesn´t find it scary, but his daughter is very afraid of her new, mechanical dad. The clones are very vivid but have dead eyes. They react then they are touched and at night, when they are now active, they are wrapped in plastic and are bendings backwards with wide open eyes. When they are turned on, they quickly move to an upright position and look surprised.

Rem Koolhaas Houselife and La Maison en Petites Cubes

Movie recommendations.

I saw these movies recently at my school, in a movie association called DAFF, where I am part of the “board”. It just means that I sometimes get to decide which movies to be showed. We show architecture related movies two times a month.

Houselifde follows the staff of the house, which Rem Koolhaas built near Bordeaux in France. You follow a very charming femme de ménage, a gartner, window cleaners and others who struggle with some of the details and curiosities of the house. A very funny and charming movie:)

We also showed La Maison en Petites Cubes, which won an Oscar (2008) for best animated short film. You can see the entire movie (12:06 minutes) here:
